But how often does that discussion lead to action? unitedmuslims.org projects were designed to make action simple, and allow project organizers to keep track of who does what, and when they do it.
Our modular system allows us to create a variety of different projects - from online fundraisers to advocacy campaigns, research wikis, real-world meetings, and more. (And if you have any ideas for other kinds of online projects, let us know and we'll build them.) Online projects are simple to set up, can be executed quickly, and can be monitored for effectiveness using the input of project members.
Using our unique invitation system, which targets email invitations only to those people with the appropriate time, expertise, and geographic proximity, you can attract the ideal candidates for your project from the ever-growing unitedmuslims.org database. And as with groups, the best and most effective projects rise to the top, based on total membership.
Use the Web to make projects easy If you sign up for a project, you'll be guided on what to do, step by step. It all happens online (where possible) - advocacy emails can be sent directly from the project page, fundraising occurs via an embedded PayPal link, and information regarding the project is aggregated in one convenient place.
Once you've performed the task, the system thanks you and stores your responses for project organizers and others to use. And strict moderation by project creators and site administrators ensure that the system isn't abused by those who wish to do us harm.
