Project description: This is a call for Muslims to join Amnesty International's defense of Egyptian blogger Karim Amer, who is the first Egyptian blogger to be tried for writing blogs criticizing Egypt's al-Azhar religious authorities, President Hosni Mubarak and Islam. Charges against Amer included "spreading information disruptive of public order and damaging to the country's reputation", "incitement to hate Islam" and "defaming the President of the Republic".

You are urged to write the Egyptian authorities and condemn the four-year sentence handed down by the court, and call for his unconditional release.
